Who we are
The Indian Council of Chemists was founded in Agra on 19 September 1981 to advance chemical research and education in India, and to give that research a proper home — publishing journals, proceedings and transactions of genuine academic standing.
From the outset, the Council also set out to organise symposia, discussions and special lectures that build wider understanding of chemistry’s role in India’s economic and industrial life, working with scientists and institutions both within the country and abroad.
